From the Director
Welcome to the Program of Social Work in the Department of Human Services at 麻豆社!
The Program of Social Work is fully accredited by the and is designed to prepare students for a career in professional social work practice. The curriculum provides students with the knowledge, values, ethics, and skills to engage in multi-level practice with individuals, families, organizations, and communities.
Social work’s web-hybrid, competency-based, “signature pedagogy” program is offered for full-time (2-year) or part-time (3-year) students. In this program, students attend five intensive weekends during the fall and spring semesters starting at 5:00 pm on Friday and all day Saturday. The remainder of the coursework is completed online. This combination of weekend intensive face-to-face classes and web-based coursework has proven to be a popular program among students who work full-time or who live at a considerable distance from campus. For more information see Program Options.
Social Work also offers an Advanced Standing (1-year) program in a web-hybrid format. The Advanced Standing program is designed for students who have received a Bachelor of Social Work from a Council of Social Work Education accredited program within the last five years.
The Program of Social Work has an outstanding faculty of highly qualified professionals that teach full-time and part-time. In addition to strong academic credentials, all faculty members have practiced as professional social workers, and are knowledgeable about a variety of social work practice settings. Their experience includes the areas of mental health, medical social work, school social work, forensics, geriatrics, and many other different client populations. Additionally, faculty have an outstanding academic record of scholarly publications as well as a record of service to the department, university, community, and to the profession.
We believe that we offer the very highest quality MSW Program for graduate students since 1995. We have educated countless social workers who currently practice in State of Georgia and beyond. I sincerely hope that you will find that our MSW Program meets your educational needs and your career needs.
