The Communications Center operates 24/7, 365  days a year, providing critical links between the university community and on-duty police units. Communication Officers manage multiple business and emergency lines,  dispatching officers to handle calls and    coordinating with local law enforcement  agencies. The center also monitors radio  frequencies for the Valdosta Police Department and the Lowndes County Sheriff's Office.

Using the Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) System, Communication Officers ensure accurate record-keeping and efficient dispatching. They also monitor the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) and Georgia Crime Information Center (GCIC) for relevant regional updates and disseminating important information to officers.
